By adding your business to CityService, search results will reflect your business, which in turn, helps you to earn more clients.

Adding your business to CitySearch may be confusing if you try to go it alone. The actual CitySearch site does not allow business owners to create an account. Below is a step-by-step guide to help you create a listing on CitySearch, so your business gets noticed. In just a few steps, your business will be added to CitySearch and more clients will have access to your service options! 

Step 1

The CitySearch site is operated by Citygrid and uses Data Axle for business information. To add your business to CitySearch, you need to go to https://local-listings.data-axle.com/search to input company information. Type in your business name, address, or telephone number in the search box.

Step 2

If you do not see your business, then click the Add It Now button.


From there, you will need to fill out a form to submit your business to CitySearch. The form requires the business name, address, telephone number, and how you are connected to the business. Complete the form and select Submit. 

Step 3

Next, you need to join Data Axle. When creating a new account here, be sure to use the business email address.


Now, you must verify your account. Check your inbox for an email from Data Axle. Use the information in the email to complete the verification process. 


Step 4

Log in to your Data Axle account. After you sign in and select Continue, you will need to be confirmed by Data Axle. An automated call will come in to the telephone number you provided on the listing. Your account will verify the need for the call. All you have to do is click the ‘Yes, Call me Now’ section of the site. 

On your computer screen, a four-digit number will pop up. You must enter this number on the telephone call when prompted to do so. This helps to confirm that you are the rightful business owner.


Once this process is completed, it takes about a month or two before your business listing is live on CitySearch. 

After your account is live, consumers will be able to find your information when conducting an online search for service options. Your online presence will grow and you can respond to customer reviews, which helps to keep your company in good standing with clients.
