A Facebook account is one of the best ways you can promote your business at little to no cost. Social media sites like Facebook are one of the first online resources that consumers use to find service and product providers. As a business owner, you can utilize Facebook to your advantage, showcasing what you offer and building a solid following. One way to help your page stand out is to customize your cover photo. The cover photo is the larger image at the top of your profile.

Easily add images of your products, logo, or service options here. Be creative and add an image that helps your brand stand out. With just a few simple clicks of the mouse, your cover photo will be visible to the public and benefiting your brand. Learn how to change your cover image with our step-by-step guide below.

Step 1:

Log in to your Facebook Business account. From there, you will be able to view your full profile. On the right-hand corner of the larger image (cover photo) of your account is a camera. This is where you add or make changes to your cover image.

Click on the camera icon and you are provided with options for the cover image.

Add your cover image

Choose to add a photo, video, or create a slideshow. It is recommended that you change up your cover image from time to time with different formats. Add a video of products or services during special holidays or sales. Use a call to action to pull in viewers to your website.

Step 3:

When you select photos or videos, it will provide you with access to what is already on your Facebook account, via a pop-up window. If you want to add something new, you must select the Upload Photo button. This allows you to choose a new photo from your computer.

If you choose to create a slideshow, then the page changes and you will see images from your account at the top of the screen. You can then add images to each gray box to create a slideshow. Be sure to add images in the correct order so that the slideshow will play correctly.

Resize or crop the image to size

When adding any image to your account, use the Drag to Reposition option in the middle to move the image around to fit the screen better. Take note that images need to be less than 100 kb in size and 851x315 pixels. For a cover video, the size recommended is 820x462 pixels.

Once you have changed out your cover image, be sure to add new content on a regular basis. Mix it up with videos, slideshows, and images to keep things interesting. Think about your demographic when creating cover images. Include a call to action if possible and use content that will appeal to your client base. This small update on your business Facebook page can translate into new customers on a consistent basis!
