What happens next?
The importance of online reviews has grown exponentially over the past few years, to the point where they now directly influence most people’s purchase decision. According to this survey, 85% of consumers trust online reviews as much as they would a personal recommendation. This places a huge weight on your business’ reviews, especially on an important social site like Facebook.
While it’s almost impossible to avoid a few negative reviews for any business, sometimes they turn out to be baseless or profane. At times like these, it becomes necessary for the business owner to take immediate steps to remove such reviews. But how can this be done?
Well, we’re here to help you with just that. But before we proceed, you have to note that there is no direct method to remove just a single review from your business’ Facebook page. However, you have two ways to go about this. You can either disable ALL reviews from your Facebook page, or you can report a particular review and request Facebook to take it down. It is important to note that Facebook will not take down all reported reviews, only the ones that do not adhere to their community standards.
Read on to find out how you can get this done.
Login to your business’ Facebook page and click on ‘Settings’ on the top right corner.
In the Settings menu, click on the ‘Edit Page’ option in the left sidebar. This will show you a list of all your page tabs.
In that list, click on the ‘Settings’ button beside the ‘Reviews’ tab.
In the following dialog box, you can disable reviews by clicking on the toggle button.
Login to your business’ Facebook page and click on the ‘Reviews’ tab on the left sidebar. This will show you all the ratings and reviews that your business has received so far.
Scroll to the review that you want removed, and click on the three horizontal dots on the top right corner of the review box.
In the following options, click on ‘Report Post’.
Clicking on ‘Report Post’ will trigger a pop-up dialog box, where you can select one of two reasons to remove the post – ‘It has nothing to do with the page’, or ‘I don’t think this should be on Facebook’. Select the appropriate reason, and the review will be reported.
